In Preparation for Monitoring and Evaluation on Merit System, KASN Encourages Government Agencies to Implement Talent Management

Indonesia Civil Service Commission (KASN) held a meeting to prepare the monitoring and evaluation for government institutions that were categorized as 'Good' and 'Very Good' in implementing the merit system. By article 18 of Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform, Number 40 of 2018, government institutions within the highest category will be evaluated every two years and those who get a proper predicate will be evaluated once a year.

This monitoring and evaluation are intended to improve and ensure the accordance of merit system practice with KASN's recommendations, then help government institutions to recognize the importance of talent management and innovation in the field of ASN management.

"From 152 government institutions within 'Good' and 'Very Good categories', there are 12 institutions that have submitted and been approved by KASN to fill out the High Leadership Position  (JPT) through talent management until February 2022," explained Commissioner of KASN, Dr. Mustari Irawan, Tuesday (8/3/2022).

The Commissioner detailed several government agencies in question, namely the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of SOEs, Ministry of Law and Human Rights, Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, Ministry of Public Works & Housing, National Institute of Public Administration, Finance and Development Supervisory Board, National Agency of Drug and Food Control, West Java Province, Bandung City, Sumedang Regency, and Tangerang City.

"This time, the government is promoting so that each institution has and manages their talent management," said Mustari.

Mustari then gave a message to all of the participants so the merit system was properly implemented. "Not only in terms of getting a good score, but we also hope the implementation of the merit system is carried out well in your institution."

For information, the monitoring and evaluation were also attended by Assistant KASN, Irfan. Several government institutions, namely the Ministry of Industry, Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency, National Family Planning Coordinating Agency, Ministry of Trade, Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture, Riau Provincial Government, West Sumatra Provincial Government, Riau Islands Provincial Government, West Kalimantan Provincial Government, Agam Regency Government, Tanah Datar Regency Government, Bukit Tinggi City Government, Payakumbuh City Government, Padang Panjang City Government, Karimun Regency Government, Anambas Islands Regency Government, Sambas Regency Government, Pontianak City Government, Jayapura City Government, Indragiri Hulu Regency Government, Indragiri Hilir Regency Government, and Dumai City Government.
